The Animals collection is filled with innovative ideas and focuses on details and pure symbolism. It stars materials unrelated to the fashion world, seeking a balance between the sketches, technical constraints and trends. Unconventional materials such as upholstery fabrics, brass pieces, little sculptures, and vintage objects… are the base of the first collection.
The creative concept develops a metaphor on the use of space, with an ironic gaze and using the animals as the subject to build the idea and blur the lines between the inside and outside of the bag.
The bags are designed seeking contrast through fabric selection, the arrangement of volumes and the creation of textures, the round geometric silhouette juxtaposed to the organic sculptures… all of these combined with the finest craftmanship.
The animals are carved in wax and then casted in brass using the traditional artisanal method, the usual one for sculptors and jewelers. With this process they will always keep their beautiful shine and color over time. The fabric used is an upholstery 100% cotton plain velvet with excellent durability and lustrous and elegant appearance.
After a long process of development and reseach of materials, the first collection of CARLA LOPEZ brings unique and timeless pieces that become the key element to any outfit.
La colección Animales está cargada de ideas innovadoras centradas en los detalles y el simbolismo puro. Para ello se utilizan materiales ajenos al mundo de la moda, buscando un equilibrio entre lo técnico, lo estético y lo simbólico. Materiales como tejidos de tapicería, piezas de latón, pequeñas esculturas y objetos vintage… son la base de nuestra primera colección.
El concepto creativo desarrolla una metáfora sobre el uso del espacio, con una mirada irónica mediante del uso del animal como sujeto para construir la idea y desdibujar las líneas entre el interior y el exterior del bolso.
Los bolsos están diseñados buscando el contraste con la selección de tejidos, la disposición de los volúmenes, la creación de texturas, la silueta circular geométrica contrapuesta a las esculturas orgánicas… todo ellos combinado con la artesanía más delicada.
Los animales se tallan en cera y posteriormente se funden en latón usando el método tradicionalmente empleado por escultores y joyeros. Con este proceso se consigue mantener su característico brillo y color para siempre. El tejido utilizado es un terciopelo de tapicería de algodón 100% que destaca por su excelente durabilidad y elegante apariencia.
Tras un exhaustivo y dilatado proceso de investigación y desarrollo de prototipos y materiales, la primera colección de CARLA LOPEZ presenta una serie de piezas únicas y atemporales que se convierten inmediatamente en el punto fuerte de cualquier look
